Children have always learned and created places for themselves through play.

3-5 Unit

Within our 3-5 Unit, we have three bright and welcoming playrooms and a large and inviting outdoor area which accommodates 88 children in each session. Our three playrooms are all interlinked and the children enjoy free-flow play both indoors and outdoors. All of our spaces have quiet and cosy corners to support all of our children’s well-being. Staff provide cosy reading spaces in playrooms and our garden for children to engage in conversations, listen and share their ideas. These areas also are used by children to relax, self-regulate and feel safe.

Every child has their own individual key worker in which we pride ourselves with ensuring our staff have caring and nurturing relationships with all our children. We record our children’s learning via an app called ‘Seesaw’ in which you will receive a ‘welcome’ post when your child first starts, posts of your child’s settling journey by their key worker and then when your child starts the planning cycle once they feel safe and secure within our nursery setting, parents will receive weekly updates on their child’s interests and learning experiences.

All our children are offered a snack and a meal option within their session, in which we record what every child had to eat at the main entrance of the 3-5 Unit alongside the weekly menu. At meal times we have a rolling snack and lunch which will promote children's choice and independence choosing when to have lunch. Supporting children to make these decisions is all part of the process of enabling children to develop positive eating habits and building their autonomy.

2-3 Room

Within our 2-3 Room which is based in our birth to 3 Unit, we have two bright and welcoming playrooms and outdoor space that provide plenty of enquiry, creativity and curiosity for our younger learners. Within our 2-3 Room we can accommodate 40 children in each session, with 10 staff.  Our two playrooms are interlinked, so children have opportunities of free-flow play and outdoor play throughout the day. All our playrooms also have nice, quiet cosy spaces for our little learners when they want to relax or feel tired.

Within the 2-3 Room, the children’s learning is recorded via ‘Seesaw’ in which you will receive a ‘welcome’ post when your child first starts, posts of your child’s settling journey by their key worker and then when your child starts the planning cycle once they feel safe and secure within our nursery setting, parents will receive weekly updates on their child’s interests and learning experiences. Our curricular document used to plan for our children’s learning is ‘Nurturing my potential’.

All our children are offered a snack within their session, in which it is free-flow and children can come when they are ready for some snack. Children who are doing full-day sessions or extended morning session will receive a lunch which is a sit down lunch with two staff members, and is in two sittings. We pride ourselves in ensuring our meal times are a socialable environment, and encouraging children to develop their independence skills.

0-2 Room

Within our baby room, which is based in birth to 3 Unit we have one spacious, nurturing and calming room. We take 12 babies within each of our sessions with 4 staff members. Our staff offer children variety of interactive and stimulating experiences which help nurture and encourage our children’s development. Nursery helps little ones explore a variety of sensory environments, encouraging visual stimuli, different sounds, textures and smells, using their interests as a basis for learning.

Nursery offers a variety of surroundings with soft, safe places for your baby or toddler to roll over, Within the baby room we record the children’s learning is recorded via ‘Seesaw’ in which you will receive a ‘welcome’ post when your child first starts, posts of your child’s settling journey by their key worker and then when your child starts the planning cycle once they feel safe and secure within our nursery setting, parents will receive weekly updates on their child’s interests and learning experiences. Our curricular document used to plan for our children’s learning is ‘Nurturing my potential’.

We take a maximum of 6 children for lunch within the baby room, which is a sit down lunch with two staff members. Meal times in nursery provide a social experience with children on similar development stages, exploring different tastes and textures and begin to develop independence for children who are ready.

Learning Journals

This can be to show you how your child is settling within the nursery, your child’s learning, share important information and also share home links for you and your child to experience in the house. Parents and families can also share photographs, videos, notes, links to websites and can upload documents with your child’s keyworker. All comments, photos, videos and notes added by parents/carers/children will need to be approved by your child’s keyworker or a member of management before they are published. This is to ensure the safe and appropriate content is published for others to view.
